Profane technology can rapidly be a consecrated technology. A working example are the LCD (liquid-crystal display) gaming monitors. Once disdained by video gamers, LCD monitors are experiencing a course of recognition among this demanding and discerning group. The reason is that every gamer likes an ultrabright, slim screen. However for the first time, the performances of LCD monitors has progressed enough to assure the technical needs of a lot of gamers. Certainly, not everyone is impressed; LCD monitors still cannot restore screen images as fast as CRT (cathode ray tube) monitors. Nonetheless, some are quick enough to offer smooth movement in action games; the period of apparent ghosting is long gone, when casual LCD monitors   looked like time-elapse images of objects in a grimy motion.
